LELAND — Donna Renee Redmon, 45, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019. Donna was born July 15, 1974, in High Point to Kathy Cross and Jerry Haithcox. She attended South Davidson High School in Denton.
Donna lived a life full of love and laughter. When she wasn’t surrounded by her family, she loved to spend her time at Carolina Beach. She saw the beach as a metaphor. We are all grains of sand; when it’s our time, the waves come and take us away. On Sept. 29, 2019, the waves came and took her away.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Redmon; six children, Kinsey Slaugenhaupt, Chelsey Slaugenhaupt, Jonathan Slaugenhaupt, Haven Hammock, Zachary Hammock and Caleb Hammock; mother, Kathy Sanders Oehrlein, and stepfather, Len Oehrlein; seven grandchildren, Dominick Kelly, Bentley Hammock, Kinley Queen, Gunner Milliken, Layla Milliken, Joey Wise and Wesley Duffin; grandmother, Ruth Hogan; one aunt and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Cross; aunt, Wanda Cross Tysinger; and uncle, Randy Cross.
