WINNABOW — Geraldine Greene Kepley, 80, entered the perfect light; that house not made by hands eternal in the heavens, Monday, Sept. 30, 2019. She was born June 28, 1939, in Shelby to Emmet and Euzele Petty Greene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Steve Greene.
She is survived by her husband, Darius Kepley, who she married Aug. 4, 1968; daughter, Christy Melton, and her husband, John, of Willard; son, Jonathan, and his wife, Pam, of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Harrison and Julia Ann Kepley of Tampa, Florida; brothers, Gilbert Greene, and his wife, Jean, Joel Greene of Waco, Carl Greene, and his wife, Wanda, of Waco; and sister, Barbara Ivie, and her husband, Ron, of Shelby.
Geraldine graduated from Mars Hill College in 1968 and retired from Brunswick County Board of Education in 1997. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Wilmington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Entombment will immediately follow in Oleander Memorial Garden Mausoleum.
