WILMINGTON — Dana Lynn Bradley, 69, lost her year-long battle with cancer Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.
Dana passed away peacefully with her sister, Susan Porter, at her side. Although Dana spent many years in a professional career, she would like to be remembered as a passionate advocate for animal rescue. Over the past 20-plus years, she was president of the North Carolina Rescue League, helping hundreds of small dogs escape abusive and hopeless lives and seeing them get a second chance at life.
Over the years, Dana adopted several of these dogs, mostly Maltese, and one special-needs dog, Matee Moo, who she called her “Heart Dog.” Dana was a special person, dedicated to all who entered the rescue and will be missed by those who connected with her there.
A private graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
