WILMINGTON — Jamie Allen Andrews, 46, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019.

Born Dec. 12, 1972, in Kinston, Jamie was a longtime resident of the Wilmington area. He was the son of Robert Allen and Shirley Jones Andrews.

He is survived by his wife, Katrina; daughters, Sydney and Kaitlin; and son, Asher. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Andrews; grandfather, Robert Andrews Sr.; two sisters, Lisa Heverly (Roy) and Donna Casteen (Jimmy); mother-in-law, Victoria; sister-in-law, Alexa Strachan; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jamie loved his family, never knew a stranger, and had a heart the size of Texas, willing to give whatever he could to anyone in need. He also loved reading the Bible, with endless amounts of highlighted verses received by and shared from his daughters. As a general contractor and master woodworker, he knew how to create and build nearly anything you could dream; as a perfectionist, he would always make certain it was 100%. Jamie loved a good milkshake, making people laugh and could spend endless hours wandering Walmart.

His last day was spent in high spirits with his family. He was content and at peace, with love in his heart and light in his soul.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 27, at Riley Creek Baptist Church, Rocky Point.

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” – Psalms 27:4-5.
