WILMINGTON — Deacon James Thomas Jones Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019.
Deacon Jones is survived by his children, James T. Jones Jr. (Beverlyn) of Fredericksburg, Johnny M. Jones (Elaine) of Clayton, Ellen Y. Barnes (Charles) of Wilmington and Milton Vann Jr. of Wilmington; sisters, Mary Armstrong and Carolyn Vann, both of Wilmington; brothers, retired CSM Charles D. Jones of Fayetteville and George Jones Sr. (Shirley) of Wilmington; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 18, at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S. 5th Ave., Wilmington. A celebration of Deacon Jones’ life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 3701 Princess Place Drive, Wilmington.
