CASTLE HAYNE — James Edward Hamm, 91, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, in Wilmington following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Wilson County to the late Joseph Walter and Ludie Langston Hamm. He attended Castle Hayne Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rufus, Earl, Jimmy and Arthur; and sister, Mildred.
James is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Eunice Hazard Hamm; sons, James Edward Hamm Jr., and his wife, Karen, Joe Marino, and his wife, Celina, and Butch Shepherd; daughters, Judy Hamm Rimmer, and her husband, Fred, Linda Hamm Moore, Wanda Hamm Gladden, and her husband, Chris, Debbie Lanagan, and her husband, Kenny, and Verbie Senis; sister, Belle Sandifer; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Woody and Sharon Melton.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 4, at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Woody Melton officiating.
