WILMINGTON — Jimmy Hughes Fulford, 75, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.
He was born and raised in the Holden Beach area of Brunswick County to Henry Roosevelt Fulford and Lillian Viola Holden Fulford. He was the baby brother of Mary Belle Moore (Robert), Elouise Jones (Hilton) and Gloria Faye Lancaster (Tex).
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and an enormous amount of friends.
Jimmy graduated from Shallotte High School, attended Wilmington College and graduated from Troutman’s Beauty School, eventually opening his own hair salon, “Jimmy’s Hair Designs.” He also loved being a member of New Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Jimmy lived life to the fullest and had many, many friends who loved him dearly.
We will gather to celebrate and share memories of him from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, 1535 41st St., Wilmington. A memorial service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park immediately following the service at 3 p.m.
