WILMINGTON — James H. Monroe Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019.
Mr. Monroe leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Dorothy E. Monroe of the home; daughters, Sylvia D. Abraham of Wilmington, Patricia D. Hooper (Clayton) of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Angelina Bernard (Allen) of Leland; son, Athanison O. Monroe (Leisha) of La Mesa, California; sister, Rose Banks (Ronald) of Clarkton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Andrews AME Zion Church, 1201 S. 9th St., Wilmington.
