HAMPSTEAD — Albert W. Schwarz, 92, a resident of Old Point, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at The Davis Community. He was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Nyack, New York, to the late William and Helen (Fry) Schwarz.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, lifelong Lions Club member and a member of Topsail Presbyterian Church. He was affectionately known as Grandpa to much of Hampstead.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lily Schwarz.
He is survived by his son, Gary Schwarz, and his wife, Sharon; daughter, Linda Lynch, and her husband, Bernard; grandchildren, Jonathan Schwarz, and his wife, Jennifer, Jessica Otto, and her husband, Mark, and Jason Schwarz; and great-grandchildren, Lily and Cydney Schwarz and Dawson Otto.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Topsail Presbyterian Church, Hampstead.
