WILMINGTON — Garth Ray Johnson, 64, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. Garth was born March 11, 1954, in Burgaw.
He was a graduate of John T. Hoggard High School, retired from DuPont and then worked for Alcami Pharmaceutical. Garth was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He was a true “Tar Heel” fan.
Garth is survived by his parents, Marvin and Hazel Johnson of Benson; son, Greg Johnson of Leland; daughter, Melissa Johnson, and her spouse, Wendy Irick, of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Conner, Ashlyn and Liam Kelley; brother, Glenn N. Johnson Sr. of Leland; and sister, Marlene Fowler, and her husband, Johnny, of Riegelwood.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with Life Celebrant Shellie Smith officiating.
