ASH — William Haywood Heath, 77, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at the Brunswick Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ash.

He was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Cumberland County, the son of the late David Alexander Heath and Vira Everlene Jackson Heath. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Merle Nolkamper; and brother, Gene Heath. Mr. Haywood was a member of Myrtle Head Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Loy R. Heath of the home; children, Garrison Nance, and his wife, Sheila, of Lumberton, Bonita Nance of Shallotte and Mark Nance, and his wife, Karen, of Ash; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Sarah, Brooke, Jared, Christy and Marissa; five great-grandchildren, Donita, Dakota, Christian, Kayleigh and Seth; two brothers, Milton Heath, and his wife, Ann, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Chase Heath, and his wife, Cathy, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; two sisters, Helen Strickland, and her husband, Ray, of Raleigh and Betty Heath Olaveson of California; sister-in-law, Marilyn Suggs Heath of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Milton Nolkamper of Texas; and special dog, “Boy Boy.”

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel, with the Rev. Jason Benton officiating. There will a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Heath.
