SHALLOTTE — Evelyn Moore Stokley, 75, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Arbor Landing at Ocean Isle.
She was born June 12, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Abel Edward Moore Sr. and Susan Elizabeth Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, John Henry Stokley Sr.; and son-in-law, Michael Skipper.
Evelyn was a professional certified nursing assistant and an excellent caregiver to her many patients over the years, even when she herself needed assistance. A special thank-you to her caregivers for their loving attention and concerns during her illness.
Evelyn is survived by her children, John Edward Stokley, and his wife, Kristi, Susan “Lynne” Skipper, John Henry Stokley Jr., and his wife, Debbie, and Christinia Smith, and her husband, Adam; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Prosper Baptist Church, Delco. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Prosper Baptist Church Cemetery beside her husband.
