Lynn Littleton White Dunlea, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018.
She was born in Raleigh to the late Rebecca Grant and Cato M. Littleton Jr. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Elvie Linwood White Jr.; son, Elvie Linwood White III; and second husband of 30 years, Richard A. Dunlea Jr.
Lynn graduated from Central High School in Charlotte and then moved with her family to Wilmington. She attended and graduated from Saint Mary’s Junior College in Raleigh. Lynn was a member of the Junior League of Wilmington, served as an appointed member on the Tryon Palace Commission and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Wilmington since 1950. Lynn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially family trips to Wrightsville Beach and Bald Head Island. She also enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with her friends and exercising with her work-out group.
Surviving are her daughters, Anne W. Godwin, and her husband, Clark, of Raleigh and Laura R. White of Marshville; son, William G. White of Wilmington; brother, John B. Littleton of Lexington, Kentucky; and her daughter-in-law, Lynne M. White of Wilson. She is also survived by her two loving grandsons, Osgood Clark Godwin Jr. of Raleigh and Elvie Linwood White IV of Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Saint Francis Memorial Garden at Saint James Episcopal Church, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint James Episcopal Church or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
