WILMINGTON — Judy Peterson Bullard, 60, was born April 5, 1958, in Wilmington. She began her heavenly journey just after midnight Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was a resident of Wilmington and the surrounding areas for most of her adult life. As a teenager, she lived in Brent, Alabama, where she became a passionate Bama fan. One of her favorite sayings was “Roll Tide.” Judy also loved the ocean and nature and had a big affinity for turtles. Sand and sun always brought a big smile to her beautiful face.
Judy was preceded in death by her dearest father, Hubert Vincent Peterson Jr.; and her precious grandson, Markus T. Morris.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Jessica Rivera (Matthew) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Tiffany Bullard-Ruff (Marquis) of Campobello, South Carolina; beloved goddaughter she affectionately called Boo, Trinati Wyatt of Riegelwood; two brothers, Vince Peterson (Vickie) of Hamilton, Alabama, and Greg Peterson (Angela) of Fulton, Missouri. Judy was the proud grandmother of five surviving grandchildren and had them stay with her every summer. She leaves behind her sweet babies, Tyera, Annabelle, Gabriel, Abigail and Seven; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She also had a sweet dog, Joonie B., that is still waiting for JuJu to come home.
Judy had a zest for life and was always smiling and laughing. She never met a stranger and was full of magnetism. Her friend group was large, and she loved each and everyone of them, especially her life long friend, Lisa Wyatt.
Jessica and Tiffany want to thank everyone who has been supportive during this difficult time. The outpouring of love and support has been amazing. The ICU staff at NHRMC was second to none.
The family will hold a private beach service, Saturday, Oct. 27.
