SHALLOTTE — Marian Christine Downer, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Weems, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William Everett Packett and Eudora B. Barrack Packett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Graham A. Packett; and sister, Allean McNeal.
Surviving are sons, David Scott Downer of Sunset Beach, and H. Wayne Downer of Ocean Isle Beach; daughters, Dianne Marie Downer and Deborah Lynn Downer, both of Shallotte; brother, George R. Packett of Richmond, Virginia; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by the Rev. John Causey. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
