WILMINGTON — Marion Lee ‘M.L.’ Wilkins, 79, went to be with our heavenly Father Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Columbus County, son of the late Marion and Viola Wilkins Powell.
He was recently preceded in death by his two daughters, Teresa Lineberry (Haywood) and Tina Railey (Tracy). He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Sue, Martha and Billie Ann; and brother, Jimmy.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Mae Ann Rising Wilkins; son, Terry Wilkins, and his wife, Cari; brothers, George Wayne (Gail) and Alfis Ray Wilkins; sister, Mary Langston (David); four grandsons, Kevin, Jacob, Cory and Mason; two great-grandsons, Colton and Braylen; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to services.
