OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Bernice Anderson, 82, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Columbus County and was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Daisy Clyde Cartrette Richardson.
She was a member of Lighthouse Mission Church of Calabash.
She was wife of the late Norley (Teny) Anderson and was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Devon and Kolton Locklear.
She is survived by six daughters, Judy E. Goodwin (Robert) of Shallotte, Belinda Woods (Tonia Long) of Ocean Isle Beach, Vicky Packer of Ocean Isle Beach, Patricia Ann Patawaran (Joe) of Sunset Beach, Barbara Ann Woods (Steven) of Longwood and Geraldine Sellers (Jerry) of Longwood; son, James Norley Woods of Longs, South Carolina; sister, Betty Ward of Chadbourn; and 80 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, at White Funeral Service Chapel, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, with Pastor Larry Ward and Dennis Nealy officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends are invited to a time of visitation with the family from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at the funeral home.
