John Michael ‘Jack’ Slusser, 47, known for his grace and generosity

WILMINGTON — It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our sweet John Michael, “Jack” Slusser. He passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at the age of 47 after a long battle with cancer. He was the most kind, generous, gracious and grateful man we have ever known. Our lives will not be the same without him.

He was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Bill Slusser.

Jack is survived by his mother, Mary Slusser; brothers, Bill and Brian Slusser; sister, Linda Delvaux; inlaws, Alysia and Denise Slusser and Dave Delvaux; nieces and nephews, Mathew and Samantha Slusser and Conner and Ava Delvaux; and his girls, Jennifer and Megan Corrigan.

A funeral Mass will be held at noon, Friday, Aug. 24, at St. Therese, 209 Lumina Ave., Wrightsville Beach. A reception will be held in the parish hall from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hoggard Tennis for the purchase of new bleachers/benches in Jack’s name. Jack spent a lot of time playing tennis at Hoggard with his friends and loved ones and always supported our community. He made the world a better place!
