Patricia B. Hampton, 90, created many enduring friendships with her authentic warmth and loyalty

SHALLOTTE — Patricia B. Hampton, 90, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018, after a brief illness. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of Edward Stratton Bridges and Janet Thomas Bridges.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johney Hampton; and her adored daughters, Janet Leigh Villars and Candace R. Hampton.

Pat lived her long life joyfully. She created many enduring friendships with her authentic warmth and loyalty, but her passion was her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Cooper of Shallotte; sister, Jeanette Copley of Ashland, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ryan Cooper of Shallotte, Gabe Cooper (Allison) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Cara Villers of Omaha, Nebraska, and Laura Jo Villers of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; and great-grandchildren, Lilyanna Kramer, Noah Cooper and Evan Cooper of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Family and friends are kindly invited to a funeral service honoring her life at 3 p.m., Monday, July 30, at the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, officiated by the Rev. John Bracey. Interment will be held in the family plot in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service and other times at her home. Casket bearers will be Doug Mintz, Keane Bellamy, Brent Robinson, Craig Lewis, Kevin Stone and Jamie Grissett. Honorary casket bearers will be Roy Mintz, Milton Coleman, Kay Coleman, Carole Harris and Freda Long.
