CAROLINA BEACH — Jimmy Charles Gause, 84, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at his home. He was born April 3, 1934, in Cerro Gordo, son of the late Louise Duncan Gause and Thorbon L. Gause.

He moved to Wilmington and joined the U.S. Navy in the early 1950s.

Mr. Gause is survived by his lovely wife of 65 years, Mary Sue Gause; two sons, Lacy Kent Gause, and his wife, Cindy, and Jimmy Lee Gause, and his wife, Taffy; grandchildren, Tammy Weddington, and her husband, Mike, Kristi Boyd, and her husband, Kenny, Jennifer Benjamin, and her husband, William, Holly Butler and Max, Jessica Willis and Joel; great-grandchildren, Kandice Weddington, Katie Weddington, Kyle Weddington, Emily Benjamin, Loreloi Benjamin, Thomas Butler, Konnor Boyd, Kayla Boyd, Nolana Johnson, Talon Johnson and Colson Gamble; sisters, Jean Hilburn, Jackie England and Marion Ballenger; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews who will miss him.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Harvey Gause and Douglas Gause; sisters, Myrtle Williamson, Alma Council, Carrie Mae Havey, Gale Potter and Dixie Lara; and grandson, Lee Gause.

A very well-known man in the Carolina Beach community, he owned and operated Allied Pest Control in Carolina Beach and was a successful businessman and real estate owner. He loved his old cars, playing golf and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Gause was a truly remarkable man who will be greatly missed and always, always remembered. He was the absolute definition of a strong and loving man to his family.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, July 27, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A service will follow at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Dr. Steve Spangler officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
