ROCKY POINT — Hilda Elizabeth Porter, 83, passed from this life to her final reward Friday, July 6, 2018.
Hilda was born Jan. 27, 1935, to the late Robert and Annie Hewett in Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton B. Porter; brothers, Robert, William and George Hewett; and sisters, Mary Anne Faircloth and Lenora Allen.
Hilda is survived by a brother, Ernest (Marsha) Hewett; sons, Randy and Mitch (Georgia) Porter of Rocky Point and Keith Porter of Burgaw; and daughters, Connie (Ken) Kramer of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and R. Lynn (Earl) Malpas of Ernul. Hilda’s surviving grandchildren include Brittany (Danny) Bair, Dustin (Karissa) Kramer, Sharon Porter, Jeremiah Malpass, Elizabeth (James) Mims, Sam Glazier and Michael Glazier; and great-grandchildren, Dallas and Sadie Bair, Everett and Reid Kramer, Isabelle, Laurie and Katie Mims, all of whom were Hilda’s pride and delight!
Many organizations and businesses benefited by Hilda’s creative design and artistic abilities all over Wilmington. Because of her benevolence and caring for others, many kindnesses were extended to her.
A private, family viewing will be held at Andrews Mortuary. Friends, family and close acquaintances are invited to celebrate her life at a graveside service at 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, and will be officiated by the Revs. Ken Kramer and Earl Malpass. Any flowers should be sent to Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, no later than Thursday, July 12.
