WILMINGTON — Glenn Warren Drew, 77, passed away Wednesday July 4, 2018, at his home.
Glenn was born July 28, 1940, in Pender County to the late Ralph Daniel Drew and Alice Elizabeth Edens Drew. He grew up in the Porters Neck Community in Wilmington and graduated from New Hanover High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1967 and was honorably discharged.
Glenn spent his long career as a consulting engineer working extensively on international assignments. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, politics, reading and flying.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maureen McCahill Drew; daughter, Robyn Kardos, and her husband, Joseph; son, Sean Drew; and six grandchildren, Talia, Daniel, Tyler, Erzsebet, Katalin and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Ralph Daniel Drew Jr.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. During the gathering, there will be a time of sharing with family, memories of Glenn, military honors and flag presentation. Light food and refreshments will be provided.
