Grant Allen Gray, 87, of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away Tuesday June 12, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Gray was born October 4, 1930 in Melrose, Massachusetts, son of the late Ralph A. and Ella Longmire Gray. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and retired from the Boston Celtics as a security officer. Mr. Gray also served with the special police in the Boston Garden. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Godwin Gray of Boiling Spring Lakes; four sons, Douglas Gray and wife Valerie of Richmond, Virginia, Robert Gray and wife Leslie, Ronald Gray, and Randall Gray, all of Southport; eight grandchildren, Jason Gray (Meagan) of Winterville, North Carolina, Jessica Greenlaw (Justin) of Bolivia, Misty Gray (Thompson) of Charlestown, Massachusetts, Amanda Gray (Matt) of Nashua, New Hampshire, Tasha Gray and Grant Gray of Billerica, Massachusetts, Alec Gray (Grace) of Kansas, and Ellis Gray of Florida; five great grandchildren, Noah Gray, Asher Gray, Hannah Gray, Dustin Greenlaw, and Cameron Gray.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes with Pastor John Roy officiating. Interment will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
