Our husband, father, Pa and friend, Joseph Eph ‘Joe’ Streavel, 69, passed away at home Friday, May 18, 2018, with his family by his side.

Joe was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Logansport, Indiana, to Geraldine and John Streavel. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1969 to 1973. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gerry; and brother, Walter.

Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy McCloud Streavel; two children, Richard Ward (Phyllis) and Tina (Bill) Rivenbark; two granddaughters, Brittany (Thomas) Brooks and Alexandra Rivenbark; great-grandchild, Thomas Brooks Jr.; mother-in-law, Laura McCloud; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, the most amazing friends and his yappy little shadow, Bandit.

Joe had strong hands always ready to lend, shoulders to calm the worst cry, consuming hugs, the quickest wit, the friendliest smile, the biggest lap, the calmest voice, a heart with limitless capacity to love and undoubtedly the patience of Job. Words cannot express how much we loved him and will miss him.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation. Interment will immediately follow services in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Legion Post 10, where he loved to volunteer, serve and socialize with his fellow veterans. The family would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make him comfortable in his last weeks and months.
