BOILING SPRING LAKES — Edith Muncy Brown, 88, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at SECU Hospice of Brunswick.
Mrs. Brown was born April 5, 1930, in Hyden, Kentucky, daughter of the late Vincent Muncy and Florence Couch Muncy. She was a strong woman of God who was very active in the church as a musician and singer, which were two of her many talents.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James “Jimmy” Brown; son, James Eugene Brown; grandson, Vincent Edward Brown; and three sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Patricia Howard, and her husband, Eddie; granddaughter, Tracey Clark, and her husband, Scott; grandson, Kenneth “Bubba” Howard; great-grandson, Robert “Koty” Howard, and his wife, Lauryn; great-granddaughter, Kenley Howard; daughter-in-law, Beverly Brown; granddaughter, Amy Brown, and her husband, Michael Tyler; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Cumbee and Nikole Brown; great-grandson, Vincent Brown; sister, Polly Lewis; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with granddaughter Tracey Clark officiating.
Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Koty Howard, Bubba Howard, Joe Campanello, Scott Cark, Jerry Edward Rivenbark and Eddie Howard.
