
SHALLOTTE — James William “Bill” Todd, 80, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.
He was born May 5, 1937, in Horry County, the son of the late Pinkney A. Todd and Annie M. Brewer Todd. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Lula Mae Todd; brothers, Leroy, Bobby and Junior; and sisters, Annie Belle, Alene, Flora Mae and Ludie.
James was a member of Jennies Branch Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a devoted husband, father and friend to all.
Surviving are his son, James Michael Todd, and his partner, Stephen Bennett of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Harris Todd, and his wife, Sharon of Longs, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday April 9, at Jennies Branch Baptist Church with Chaplain Mickie Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be John Isley, Ernie Leonard, Homer Lyles, Billy Long, Eddie Nixon and Joey Babson. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Cheers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
