WILMINGTON — Penny DeHart, 51, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018.
Penny loved Michael, her husband of 25 years; her girls, Kyla and Lexi; her mom, Anita; and her brothers, Mark and Jason. She loved all her family, friends, neighbors and students.
Penny enjoyed her work as a special education teacher. She had an impact on the lives of countless students and families over her 26-year career. Penny was full of energy and always up for fun and excitement. She laughed every day of her life and had the brightest smile for everyone she met.
Penny welcomed a countless number of her daughters’ friends into her home, making each visitor feel special and welcome. Penny knew how immensely we all loved her. We are thankful for the time we had with her and will continue to love and miss her deeply.
A celebration of Penny’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, in the sanctuary of Pine Valley United Methodist Church with a reception to follow. We ask that those attending wear bright colors.
