Sharon Elizabeth Hobbs, 52, known for her altruistic nature

WILMINGTON — Sharon Elizabeth Hobbs, 52, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. Sharon was born June 21, 1965, in Wilmington, N.C., to James and Brenda Merritt Hobbs.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mildred Hobbs; former husband, Anthony Pinzari Sr.; and former fiancé, Steve Brock.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Pinzari Jr.; mother, Brenda Howard; father, James Hobbs; and brother, Austin Hobbs.

Sharon attended New Hanover High School in Wilmington and later worked in Public Service for New Hanover County Schools. A loving mother, daughter and friend, Sharon’s family was always the most important thing in her life. Her free spirit, and good-hearted nature brought joy to anyone she touched.

Sharon had an affinity for animals, as well as the sick and elderly, and showed the highest level of compassion towards them throughout her life. Sharon was known for her altruistic nature, her love for adventure, and her open-minded approach on life. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her son and placed an emphasis on the importance of family. Sharon enjoyed all genres of music and was always a beach girl at heart.

Family, friends and others whose lives Sharon had touched are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel, 1617 Market St., Wilmington.
