OCEAN ISLE BEACH — James Edwin “Ed” Robinson, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. He was born in Gastonia, N.C., a son of Doug Robinson and Lucy Bingham.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Gastonia Masonic Lodge No. 369. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, NASCAR, and, in his fun-loving way, giving unsolicited advice.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Robinson; and sister, Phyllis Auten.
Surviving are his sons, Rick Robinson of Mount Holly, N.C., and Terry Robinson (Joyce) of Wilmington, N.C.; daughters, Tammy Gibson (Terry) of Gastonia, N.C., and Lori Frazier of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, with the Rev. Terry Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
