ASH — Carl Edgar Wilson, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.
Born July 17, 1931, in Brunswick County, N.C., he was a son of the late Louis Pink Wilson and Lucinda Andrews Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mike Wilson; and a brother, Frank Wilson.
He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Nellie Lovett Wilson, and sons, Muriel (Sandy) Wilson and Donald (Cassandra) Wilson, all of Ash, N.C.; sisters, Naomi Hewett and Mary Lou (Gene) Cumbee, both of Supply, N.C., and Bernice Etheridge of Whiteville, N.C.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sandy Wilson of Thomasville, N.C.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the C.E. Wilson Family Cemetery, Ash.
