CASTLE HAYNE — Margaret Lee Fowler Carver, 95, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at her home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Carver was born March 18, 1922, in Wilmington, N.C., daughter of the late Roy E. Fowler and Daisy Belle Savage Fowler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carver; sister, Mildred Gmytruk; and brother, William Fowler.
She was a longtime member of McClure Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Carver loved quilting, playing Scrabble, doing puzzles and reading.
Survivors include her children, Nancy Meehan, and her husband, Bud, of Castle Hayne, David Carver of Cerro Gordo, N.C., Michael Carver of the home, Douglas Carver, and his wife, Jessica, of Rocky Point, N.C., Janice Jensen, and her husband, Fred, of Castle Hayne and Steven Carver, and his wife, Janice, of Wilmington, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Alton Fowler of Coolville, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at McClure Presbyterian Church, 5908 Castle Hayne Road, Castle Hayne, with the Rev. Dr. Martha Highsmith officiating. The family will receive friends at a luncheon to be held at the church immediately following the service.
