
WILMINGTON — Elizabeth Rich Johnson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017. She was born near Wallace, N.C., the daughter of the late William Charlie and Lucy Dale Rich. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Johnson; and brother, Robert D. (Bobby).
Elizabeth graduated from Clement High School (now Wallace-Rose Hill). After her marriage, she lived in Greensboro, N.C., for a number of years. The family moved to Wilmington in 1969, and she worked for Coastal Lighting Supply Company for 21 years. She was a former member of Little Chapel on the Boardwalk Presbyterian Church, and most recently, Long Leaf Baptist Church. She was also a member of Goldenrod Chapter No. 142 Order of the Eastern Star since 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Charles “Eddie” Edison, and his wife, Sharon, of Rocky Point and John Randall Sr., and his wife, Cindy, of Hampstead; daughter, Sharon Autry, and her husband, Jackie; grandchildren, Jeremy, April, Sarah, John Randall Johnson II and Joshua Autry; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cole Johnson.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wilmington Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Mr. Jim Coates officiating. Following the service, burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Jeremy Johnson, Alex Quate, Jacob Johnson, John Randall Johnson Jr., Cole Johnson, Joshua Autry and Jackie Autry.
