Michael Edward “Mike” Becker, 59, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mike was born Oct. 24, 1957, in Beaufort, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Becker; and sister, Anne Marie Spencer.
He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Pat Becker; stepson, Walter Isengard; mother, Carolyn Becker, and brother, Greg Becker, both of Jacksonville, N.C.; sister Lynne Colley of Lakenheath, England; and an extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and a great-nephew.
Mike loved the South and its great outdoors, especially the beauty of southeastern North Carolina. He enjoyed fishing and diving; his business also allowed him to work outside much of the time. Mike was also a dedicated member of Anchor Baptist Church, Wilmington, where he and Pat were involved in several mission outreach programs.
A memorial service will be held at Anchor Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, with Dr. Jeff Nichols, pastor, presiding.
