
BOILING SPRING LAKES — Richard Austin Cushman, 86, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Dosher Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Cushman was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Randolph, Mass., the only son of the late Charles and Ida Cushman. He was raised in Randolph and spent many summers with his family in Nova Scotia.
In his early years, he was an Eagle Scout, Army sharp shooter and race car driver. Once wed, he moved his family to Londonderry, N.H., where he was a well-known entrepreneur, and the founder of the internationally known Lions Club, Londonderry, N.H.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years and high school sweetheart, Christine Ann Cushman. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Lee of New Hampshire; son, Rick Cushman and Cathy Spence of Boiling Spring Lakes; along with four grandsons, Joshua Lee, Tim Lee, Chris Cushman and Kevin Cushman; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Spence.
At Mr. Cushman’s request, no services will be held.
