
WILMINGTON — Buffy Ann Frank, 47, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, James H. Emblen; brother, James R. Emblen; and sister, Tammy S. Emblen.
Born in Michigan, Buffy entered the U.S. Army after high school as a dental technician, and after an honorable discharge in 1991, she worked as a dental and orthodontic assistant, treatment coordinator and office manager.
Buffy was a dreamer and entrepreneur, most recently as the owner of The Crescent Moon Art Gallery in Wilmington, which was her dream job, aside from mother and domestic engineer. Buffy was very active in the community with organizations like “She Rocks,” as she herself was an ovarian cancer survivor.
In her leisure time, Buffy liked to be creative through art and crafts, travel, and most of all, spend time with her family. Her shining personality and smile drew people to her and it was her goal to make everyone feel special and loved.
Those left to cherish and remember her include her parents Dawn L. Lovett and Charles H. Lovett; husband of 24 years, Jon Lawrence Frank; son, Corey Lawrence Frank; daughter, Victoria Elizabeth-Ray Frank; and eight nieces and nephews. Other loving family members include Jerry L. Emblen, Kailyn D. Lovett, Susan R. Frank, Jeffrey L. Frank, JoEllen L. Bingham, Tracey Fernald and Gisela Matzner.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel followed by a private funeral service beginning at 11 a.m.
