SUNSET BEACH — Margaret Judd Morris Wright, 88, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, Bolivia, N.C.
She was born in Raleigh, N.C., on March 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas Earl Morris and Mattie Leigh Austin Morris and was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Harrison Wright; and a daughter, Cynthia Kay Wright.
Mrs. Wright grew up in Charlotte and attended Harding High School and St. Mary’s College in Raleigh. She was a secretary at Carson Realty for 25 years in Charlotte. She was active in her church and church choir. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and enjoying her four children, and later, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wright lived for some time at Lake Norman, N.C., and retired to Sunset Beach in 1998. She was a member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church and Sea Trail Property Owner Association.
She is survived by her children, Robert Wright Jr., and his wife, Terri, Pamela Grady, and her husband, Jerry, Susan Derby and Charles Wright; eight grandchildren, Courtney Wright, Trey Wright, Jared Grady, Ryan Grady, Christopher Derby, and his wife, Blythe, Lindsay Derby Northington, and her husband, Sean, Sarah Derby and Matthew Wright; great-grandsons, Kayden Wright, and Landon Wright; sister, Jean Shaver of Greensboro, N.C.; brother-in-law, Paul William Wright of Easley, S.C.; and stepsister, Mary Shutz of Mt. Ulla, N.C.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 22, at Shallotte Presbyterian Church.
