James “Jamie,” “Jim” M. Dunn III, 64, remembered for his wonderful sense of humor

BOLIVIA — James “Jamie,” “Jim” M. Dunn III, 64, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, from congestive heart failure. He was born Oct. 28, 1952. in Forestport N.Y., son of Doris Wood Keefe and James M. Dunn II.

Jim will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to pick on family and friends. He also loved animals of all kinds. He graduated from Adirondack High School in 1970 and attended Morrisville and Mohawk Valley community colleges.

Jim worked for Utica Boilers for 22 years and at United Cerebral Palsy and retired from DDSO in 2012. He drove for Paine Bus, First Student and Birnie Bus part time. Jim loved sports and fondly remembered playing baseball, basketball and football in his younger years in the Boonville area.

Jim was predeceased by his mother; brother, Bruce; and aunts and uncles.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Karen Jagger Dunn of Bolivia, N.C.; and children, Michelle (Bill) Burke of Bolivia, N.C., Christopher Dunn and Melissa Dunn of Ilion, N.Y.; and stepson, Adrian (Jen) Stinger of Westmoreland, N.Y. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeff Newey, Chandler Dunn, Collin Burke, Billie Jean Burke and Rhynnon Dunn; nephew, Corey Dunn of New Mexico; and sisters-in-law, Connie Daley Zelinski, Nancy Daley Solberg (Alan) and Ellen Daley Grayson (Richard) of Madrid, N.Y. He also leaves behind his beloved furry kids, Katie, Honey, Spunkie and Sweetie.

Jim’s wish was to have his ashes buried in the ocean.

The family would like to thank the Walker Family, Steve, Christy, Jared and Arizona for the love shown to Jim, Karen and family; they are a blessing. The family would also like to thank the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia for the wonderful care given to Jim in his last days.
