CASTLE HAYNE — Steven Douglas Collins, 76, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016.
Steven was born on Feb. 1, 1940, to A.B. Collins Sr. and Virginia Harper Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Evans Collins, who passed away 2003; brother, Wayne Collins; and beloved dog, “Cookie.”
Steven was a professional carpenter and builder for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR, working in his yard and garden and spending time with family and friends.
Steven is survived by his son, Steven Douglas Collins Jr.; grandson, Joshua; stepdaughters, Julie Collins and Christina Thebeault; stepson, Edward; brothers and sisters, Betsy Lyerly, A.B. Collins Jr., Janet Norton (Gene), Stanley Collins (Debbie) and Russell Collins (Diane); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
