ASH — Lillian Piver Hewett, 85, of Ash, N.C., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. She was born in Columbus County, N.C. on Jan. 12, 1931, to the late Radford and Bessie Carlisle Piver.
Lillian was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Earl Hewett and 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children Larry Hewett (Lydia) of Whiteville, N.C., Cathy Johnson of Ash, N.C., Edwin Hewett (Ronda) of Scottsbluff, Neb., James Hewett (Betty) of Exum, N.C., Tim Hewett (Carolyn) of Charlotte, N.C., Andrea Miller (Clayton) of Fairbluff, NC; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Baptist Church in Ash, N.C. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Piver Family Cemetery. A visitation was held at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel in Shallotte, N.C. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m.
