Gerald Richard “Jerry” Coddington, 75, had a passion for anything with a motor

ST. JAMES — Gerald Richard “Jerry” Coddington, 75, of St. James, passed away on Nov. 4, 2016.

Mr. Coddington was born May 2, 1941 the son of the late Willard and Dorothy Coddington. He was a sweet and gentle person who had a real passion for anything with a motor. A lifelong car nut, he enjoyed British and German cars and motorcycles.

Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Korea. For many years he worked at the family car dealership, T & T Motors in Edison, N.J. He had a cabin on the lake in his beloved Lake Placid. He and his wife of 48 years, Julie, moved to St. James 12 years ago. Jerry attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a longtime Dosher Hospital volunteer.

Survivors include his wife Julie Coddington; a daughter, DeAnne Pellowski of Toms River, N.J.; a son Michael Coddington and wife Alissa of Woodbury, Minn.; and two grandchildren Paul Coddington and Elaina Coddington.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in the Peacock, Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel, with The Reverend Doug Lawson officiating. The family will continue to receive friends following the service until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
