CALABASH — Patrick G. Weese, 73, of Calabash, N.C., formerly Yorktown Heights, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2016.
Pat was preceded in death by sons Christopher Patrick, and Donald Frederick, and his parents Ethena Morrow and Roy Weese.
He is survived by wife Martha of Calabash, daughter Maureen (David Melnick) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., daughter-in-law Jamie of Farson, Wyoming, grandson Connor and granddaughter Katherine of Farson, Wyo., as well as brothers Richard Chewning (Julie) of Hollywood, Fla. and Dale Weese (Sue) of Rochester, Penn.
Pat served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Nellingen, Germany. Pat graduated from Tarkio College with additional graduate work from Lehman College and Long Island University in N.Y. He taught physical education for 34 years, and coached football and lacrosse in the Pelham, N.Y. school system. He also coached football at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in N.Y., Manhattan College, and Pace University.
While living in Yorktown, Pat was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown and worked on many committees for the church. He was also active in the Yorktown Athletic Club.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte, N.C.
