Kenneth Eugene Cook, 79, enjoyed building furniture and remodeling projects

BOILING SPRING LAKES — Kenneth Eugene Cook, 79, of Boiling Spring Lakes, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at SECU Hospice of Brunswick.

Mr. Cook was born March 8, 1937, son of the late Charlie and Josephine Daughtry Cook. He was a veteran of the United State Air Force. Mr. Cook was mayor of Stephens City, Virginia for 10 years. After retirement he and his wife made their home in Boiling Spring Lakes. Mr. Cook enjoyed building furniture and remodeling projects. He also enjoyed reading science fiction books.

Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Katie Cook of Boiling Spring Lakes; two children, Kenneth Eugene Cook II and Cassandra Golliday; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Golliday and Sarah Golliday; six great grandchildren, Zachary Golliday, Devin Golliday, Kamil Williams, Khamia Williams, Emelia Malpass, and Elania Savage.
