WILMINGTON — On Oct. 5,2016, at age 85, Glenn Robinson Lockwood passed away.
He is survived by his wife, Marion, son Grant Lockwood and his wife Janet, and daughters Nancy Lockwood, and Jeannie Gates and her husband, Christopher.
He was a devoted husband and wonderful father to his children and furry family members. Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
He was an avid reader and bird watcher, and he loved deep-sea fishing and deer hunting. A local businessman, he ran his own automotive service company for about 50 years. His contributed to his community through the Masonic Lodge (he was a mason for 50 years) in Pleasant Valley, NY, and a member for several years of the Rotary Club in Hobart, NY.. He was a veteran of the Korean war in the U.S. Army, with the responsibility to ensure that helicopters could fly safely to pick up the wounded.
After a long illness, his health declined rapidly. At the hospice center, he passed peacefully with his wife Marion and daughter Jeannie at his side.
A celebration of his life will be held at his Wilmington home on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, from 4-7 p.m., and a burial at sea is planned for spring 2017.
