Margaret Janet Rivenbark, 84, member of Forest Hills Baptist Church

BURGAW – Margaret Janet Rivenbark, 84, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Pender County, the daughter of the late Scornwall Lester and Eva Wells Rivenbark. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alfred Lee Rivenbark; sisters, Luema Higgins, Edna Rivenbark and Carolyn Teachey; and brother, Woodley Rivenbark.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Williams (Roger) and Teresa Boyce (Steve); grandchildren, Kristy Stutts, Brian Williams, Cori Boyce and Kacie Boyce; great grandchildren, Zachary Stutts, Evan Stutts, Braedon Williams, and Patrick Allen; sisters, Evelyn Bloodworth and Maude Eakins; brothers, Ivey, Frank, Edgar and Morris Rivenbark; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. She loved and served the Lord and her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and created a home filled with love. Her joy in life was her dear family, especially her grandchildren. Her sweet, sweet spirit will continue to live in our hearts.

The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with service at 4 p.m. The Rev. Philip Eakins will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
