LELAND – Elena M. Houk, 72, a resident of Magnolia Greens in Leland, N.C., passed away Wednesday Aug. 3, 2016.
Mrs. Houk was born Oct. 3, 1943, in New York, to Sergio DeGennaro and Vivian Mettaconi DeGennaro.
She enjoyed dancing, shopping, bowling and all sports. Elena was very artistic and enjoyed home decorating and interior design.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Houk; stepchildren, Debra Savery, Christine Houk, Peter Houk and Barbara Cruz; brother, Tony DeGennaro; sister, Maria DeGennaro Carlino; and her beloved dog, Elvis.
A memorial gathering will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, Village Road Chapel in Leland.
