Christopher Ray Johnston, 36, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 24, 2016, at his home. He was the husband of Kristie Smith Johnston.
Born in Atlanta, Ga., April 17, 1980, a son of Tommy and Rebecca Jill Bentley of Georgia, he was a Wilmington resident for several years. He was employed by the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation as a land surveyor. An avid powerlifter, he was a member of Hybrid Athlete Mission (HAM) of Wilmington.
In addition to his wife, Kristie, and his parents, he is survived by his sister, Amanda Blanchard; aunts, Debra Bentley, and Luann; and uncle, Rick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Hybrid Athlete Mission (HAM), 6421 Windmill Way, Building A, Wilmington.
Christopher and Kristie are expecting their first child, Evie Leeloo, in a few weeks.
