Genevieve Starling Robinson, 88, of Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Wilmington June 25, 1927, at James Walker Hospital. The daughter of the late Arthur J. Starling and Gabrielle King Starling, she grew up in the Dry Pond area. Genevieve had retired from First Union Bank and enjoyed singing with the ‘Harmonits.’ She loved her family and friends, but most of all, she loved the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Robert Denning Godfrey of Wilmington, James Starling Robinson, and his wife, LuAnn, of Myrtle Beach, and Julie R. Tregembo of Savannah, Ga.; brother, Haywood R. Starling of Raleigh; grandchildren, Stephanie Hilliard, Cindy Evans, Lindsay Robinson, Aaron Robinson, Zack Godfrey and Jordan Godfrey; great-grandchildren, David Hilliard Jr., Cameron Hilliard, Catherine Vorhees, Nicholas Campana and Matthew Vorhees; great-great-grandchildren, Madison and MaKenzie Hilliard and A.J. Rocha Jr.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
