Bernice Marilyn Hughes, 87, born December 3, 1928, in Newark, N.J., passed peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Hughes; son, Robert C. Hughes; and sister, Sandra Corallo.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Jacobson; granddaughters, Alison Campbell and Melisa Jacobson; great-grandsons, Jack Campbell and Nicholaus Clay, all of Wilmington; daughter, Cynthia, and Michael Miller; granddaughter, Danielle; grandson, Max, of New York, N.Y.; and niece, Carol, and Mike Allen of Pt. Pleasant, N.J.; and many friends at Liberty Commons Nursing Center who are left to cherish her memory.
A scattering of her ashes will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier, 1800 Carolina Beach Ave. All friends are welcome.
