Walter Clayton Canady, 79, of Wilmington, died peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nola Canady Myers; and his son, Clayton Lamar Canady.
Walter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Canady; one daughter, Evaengline Ames; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to offer thanks to the staff of Continuum Home Care and Hospice and North Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care shown to Walter.
