Joan C. Borgman, 85, ‘she shared her love of learning and interest in travel with all around her’

Joan C. Borgman, 85, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016.

Born April 5, 1930 in Manitowoc, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Floyd Harvey and Catherine Blake Harvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred G. Borgman in 1999; and her sister, Adell Schleis.

Mrs. Borgman had been employed as a teacher and occupational therapist. She shared her love of learning and interest in travel with all around her.

She is survived by her son, Dirk Borgman, daughter-in-law Tricia Flaherty, and grandsons Patrick, Ryan and Andrew Borgman of Scituate, Mass.; and her extended family of Diane and David Grueneberg of Wisconsin; Doug and Gail Schultz of Wisconsin; and David Schultz of Colorado; Russell and Barbara Robinson of Wisconsin and their children and grandchildren of Colorado and Michigan; and James and Betsy Fox and their children and grandchildren of Georgia.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Borgman on Friday, February 26, at Lutheran Church of Reconciliation, 7500 Market St., Wilmington. A reception will follow the service.
